Communications Manager-Outreach

Exelon is currently seeking a Manager, Communications Outreach for our Warrenville, IL office.  The qualified candidate will be responsible for the following:

Execute and manage public outreach communications plans and strategies on behalf of Exelon Nuclear and Exelon Corp.

The successful manager will ensure outreach programs and activities support Nuclear and Corporate communications goals and objectives; advise and counsel executive leaders within the respective regions on outreach issues, strategies and tactics; own and execute assigned portions of the approved Nuclear Outreach Plan; support nuclear site-based outreach programs and ensure their alignment with fleet outreach objectives; ensure full coordination with Nuclear Public Affairs on outreach matters; monitor nuclear issues that have a potential to affect public perception and corporate reputation; develop and manage mechanisms for tracking and measuring outreach program effectiveness to drive continuous improvement; and manage resources as required in support of the Director, Nuclear Communications, nuclear stations and Exelon Corp.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
Propose and participate in the development, execution and coordination of outreach plans, strategies and initiatives that support goals and objectives of the nuclear business unit, Nuclear Communications and the executive owner of the Nuclear Outreach Plan.

Ensure that all outreach plans and activities are fully coordinated with Nuclear Public Affairs, sites and nuclear leadership.

Advise, counsel site communicators, regional communications managers and nuclear executives on outreach issues as they relate to communications and media and provide strategies to address them.

Assist site communicators in planning, developing and executing site-specific outreach plans and initiatives in support of  station, Nuclear and Nuclear Outreach Plan goals.

Lead and manage leveraged or assigned resources to ensure effective execution of strategies and activities.

Support the director, Nuclear Communications in achieving overall departmental goals and objectives. 

Develop and oversee outreach tracking methods and metrics for Nuclear Communications.
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor?s degree; seven years proven success in media relations, public outreach, or corporate communications; ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear site, ability to travel.

Reports to the Director, Nuclear Communications

Provides support to the executive owner of the Nuclear Outreach Plan

Owns and executes elements of the Nuclear Outreach Plan

Supports station outreach functions and related communications initiatives.

Coordinates public outreach activities metrics involving all nuclear sites in assigned state or region.
