The Digital & Communications Technology (DCT) Monitoring and Compliance Support is a new group composed of several teams responsible for providing direction and support to segments/functions in monitoring and maintaining Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, for collaboration on simplification and standardization of controls and for embedding controls into BP Operations.
The Planning & Reporting Services Manager will be a member of the DCT Monitoring and Compliance Support group and will provide direct professional support to the Manager, Planning, Reporting, and Change Services. This position will work closely with the DCT integration team, the DCT ICDT (Internal Controls Delivery Team), and the monitoring team and will have a key role in leading and managing the planning and reporting of progress against compliance and monitoring activities.
Accountabilities Include:
Manage all aspects of DCT internal controls planning and reporting requirements.
Plan, analyze, and report DCT's Internal Controls and DCT ICDT progress in its 404 assertions and other monitoring projects.
Plan and execute regular group meetings and conf calls with ICDT and other key stakeholders.
Work with respective segment/function to resolve issues, clarify policy and procedures, and review progress.
Plan and facilitate extended leadership team meetings.
Manage activities for enhancements and usage of tools and tool-related processes used to facilitate BP DCT's 404 assertion process and progress reporting.
Provide planning and support services for monitoring compliance against other BP DCT standards.
Provide 404 tools usage guidance and support to DCT ICDT.
Participate in the development of the long term plan to embed internal controls into DCT.
Collaborate with other BP compliance and monitoring groups and network with industry peers to incorporate Best Practices.
Support relationship with external auditor.
Foster career development and manage all people related issues to ensure development of staff to achieve personal goals and objectives.
Develop budget and track expenses.
Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Planning & Reporting Services Manager applicants must have:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the project management process from concept through project closeout.
A minimum of 5 years of experience with risk analysis, mitigation and contingency planning.
A minimum of 2 years of experience with internal controls and compliance.
A minimum of 2 years of Program Managment Office (PMO) experience.
Experience with data collection and reporting techniques and solutions.
A Minimum of 2 years of experience in controls and/or compliance related work.
Intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Office tools and/or other project management tools.
Strong organization, analytical, decision making and communication skills.
The willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, IT, Business Administration or industry related technical discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:
Understanding of typical due diligence processes used to support compliance with external regulations and policies.
Understanding of SOX, Internal Controls and Section 404 and/or Section 302.
Microsoft SharePoint Software.
A Masters Degree in Engineering, IT, Business Administration or industry related technical discipline.
Experience in the oil and gas industry.
