About the Opportunity This Distribution Specialist designs Company, customer and large public electrical distribution systems in the most cost effective manner, on schedule and under, or at budget. Communicate with customers, property owners, architects and engineers to develop electrical distribution designs to meet requirements. Prepare cost estimates, schedules and detailed sketches of facilities. Ensure that installations are in compliance with overhead and underground construction standards, National Electric Code, National Electrical Safety Code and structural requirements. Perform field investigations for minor installations that include: gathering information (i.e., measurements), terrain, assess conditions, buildings, equipment clearances and obstacles. Coordinate activities such as installations of telephone, cable TV and other third party attachments to prevent scheduling and construction delays. Coordinate and determine appropriate protection, coordination and metering requirements. Prepare work order packages and requisition materials. Close out work orders and record constructed additions, changes and removals on maps and records. Review completed work to reconcile differences between design and construction. Plan and schedule job assignments to meet predetermined dates.
Qualifications
Required
Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology or related field experience.
Basic knowledge of National Electrical Safety Code and National Electric Code.
Working knowledge of overhead and underground construction methods, maintenance practices, overhead and underground construction standards, rates, procedures and service practices.
Previous experience using CAD, CREWS, CTCS, and AM/FM computer systems.
Effective verbal an written communication skills to effectively exchange information with customers, external contacts and company employees.
Basic knowledge of PC software applications which include Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes.
Must have demonstrated the ability to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of Accident Prevention guidelines and ability to work safely.
Must possess valid driver's license and personal vehicle.
