HRC is looking for a Energy/Utility Engineer for its? Refinery in Tuscaloosa, Al.  Candidate must have a bachelor?s degree in Chemical Engineering and 5-10 years progressive experience in the refining and/or petrochemical industry.   Summary

 

The primary duty of the Energy/Utility Engineer is to monitor and improve the overall energy efficiency of the entire facility as well as oversee all refinery chemical treatment programs, both process and water.  This position will work in cooperation with all refinery operational personnel to achieve maximum energy efficiency and optimum chemical treatment programs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

?  Develop and maintain the material balance to track fuel consumption (both produced and consumed).

?  Develop and maintain the material balance to track hydrogen production versus consumption.

?  Develop and maintain the material balance to track steam production versus consumption.

?  Work with Accounting group to maintain accurate material mass balance for the refinery.

?  Function as the lead contact for the chemical water treatment programs at the WTP, boilers and cooling towers.

?  Function as the lead contact for the chemical process treatment programs.

?  Work with Process Engineering to help develop models of units and equipment to track efficiency of operations.

?  Work closely with Refinery Planning/Optimization Engineer to improve refinery linear program.

?  Train to function as vacation relief for Process Engineers.

?  Assist in technical coverage during scheduled and unscheduled unit outages.

?  Perform other duties as assigned.
