Electrical Engineering Sourcing Quality Consultant

Granite Services International, Inc.  is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer with a sourcing quality background for a 12 month assignment located in Schenectady, NY.

Local candidates are heavily preferred.

Candidates must have the following qualifications to be considered
-Education minimum of A.S. or Electrical Engineering Certificate; B.S. Electrical Engineering preferred
- Manufacturing & power generation exp. required
-Minimum of 2 years experience
-Demonstrated technical aptitude
-Analytical and problem solving skills
-Ability to meet travel requirements to include up to one week per month
-Strong background in interpretation of engineering drawings/specifications, metrology, and manufacturing process planning/evaluation
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Field Service and/or installation is a plus

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assessing supplier performance to assure GE, their customer, and industry standards are met. Will perform product and process audits at supplier manufacturing facilities and/or GE customer job sites. Audits will include, but are not limited to, routine inspections, documentation review, quality system inspections, first piece qualifications, and process inspections.

POSITION DUTIES
-Conduct Supplier Surveillance Process and Product Audits; report on all findings to the Electrical Team Leader
-Utilize a structured approach for quality assurance; drive consistency and adherence to quality procedures and requirements
-Verify products are manufactured according to GE specifications and/or industry standards and report possible systemic issues at supplier shops
-Work with suppliers to resolve all issues identified during audits
-Monitor supplier on-going performance; identify and drive process improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
-Provide technical guidance to suppliers to assure product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
-Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for repetitive or critical supplier defects
-Conduct supplier qualifications activities including, but not limited to, MPP/ITP review, pre-manufacturing audits, quality system audits, and design reviews
-Process Supplier Deviation Requests for assigned equipment
-Work with assigned suppliers to conduct Process Capability Analysis
-Maintain/calibrate personal tools in accordance with industry standards
