Position Description:

Chevron Products Company (GDREF) is accepting online applications for the position of a Fixed Equipment Inspector Analyst (0608-50161285) located in Salt Lake City, Utah through September 15, 2006.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Fixed Equipment Inspector Analyst reports to the Equipment Reliability Lead in the Reliability Division and is one of four equipment inspectors in the group. This position is responsible for Inspection of stationary equipment in an assigned area in the Refinery, and for ensuring that the equipment in the assigned area meets applicable code and / or jurisdictional requirements. Periodically requires working beyond 40 hour work week. Minimal travel required (annual offsite training). This is a multilevel career ladder position.


Qualifications:

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
Initiates and executes on-stream and shutdown inspection of refinery equipment including:
-- piping,
-- pressure vessels,
-- heat exchangers,
-- tanks,
-- drums,
-- furnaces, etc.

- Documents findings and completes analysis of data obtained to ensure that the condition of the equipment is understood.
- Makes recommendations as to future reliability, fitness for service and repair.
- Performs QA / QC functions for repairs of equipment in assigned area.
- Oversees condition of equipment to ensure that equipment integrity is maintained, and that compliance with applicable codes or standards is assured.
- Utilizes Risk Based Inspection methodology in the preparation of Inspection and reliability plans for the equipment.
- Reports to Corporation, jurisdiction and Underwriter agencies pertaining to status of the equipment.
- Participates on turnaround planning and other teams.

SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS OR ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS/INFORMATION:
- The normal work schedule is 4/10, Monday - Thursday.
- Shutdown and project work may require working a 7/12 schedule. The analyst must be available for call-out on a varied basis. Inspection of refinery equipment is physically demanding due to weather and relative equipment size. - This is a safety sensitive position and the Salt Lake Refinery employees are subject to random drug testing.
- High school diploma required.
- API 510 Certification, API 570 Certification, API 653 Certification, and ASNT Level I & II UT, PT, MT & AWS (CWI).

- Job Knowledge and Experience: Petrochemical equipment inspection experience. Knowledge of Chevron's procedures, instructions and safe working practices.
- Technical Skills and Achievement: Certification in API 510, API 570, API 653 and ASNT Level I & II UT, PT, MT, RT Film Interpretation & AWS (CWI) are CRITICAL. National Board Commission is desirable. .
- Information Technology: Ability to use basic software applications (MS Word, Excel, etc.). Knowledge of Meridium and Passport software.
