Fuel Procurement Manager

We are currently seeking a Fuel Procurement Manager for our downtown Houston location.

 

Fuel Procurement Manager

In this role, you will develop and implement a consolidated fuel (gasoline and propane) management program including policies and procedures updates and compliance for fuel procurement; implement and monitor a cost effective fuel procurement strategy (including potential hedging opportunities); negotiate/create agreements with fuel suppliers; develop/manage relationships with fuel suppliers and fuel card vendors, and work with fuel card vendors to assure integrity of the fuel card system and minimize risks. The selected candidate will monitor fuel market conditions and make proactive procurement decisions to maximize value to the company; report suspected fuel account abuse to management; reconcile fuel account debits, perform audits of fuel providers to assure contract compliance, and supervise the fuel card administrator.

 

Requires a four-year college degree in Business, Accounting, or Marketing or related field, and/or equivalent business experience; a minimum of 7 years experience in the energy industry with at least 4 years in activities related to fuel or fleet management and/or procurement; proven experience managing fuel card programs and suppliers, and knowledge of fuel sourcing including negotiations with fuel providers. Must have solid communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Suite of software products is necessary.
