ENERGY SPECIALIST

This position works closely with Gas Trading through the study of market fundamentals and the identification of market opportunities. It researches various gas markets and also provides ad hoc analyses to support business strategies. Activities include the significant manipulation of large data sets. Certain duties, such as the load model development, supply side forecasting?and application, call for knowledge of statistics and an ability to automate some tasks within MS Excel. The position also works with various groups to incorporate market intelligence. Responsibilities are as follows:





Provide data analysis for gas flow monitoring on multiple pipelines with pipeline scraping software.

Provide?fundamental research and literature summaries to assist business decisions.

Research and summarize energy market and policy developments.

Manage subscription services for market data and market views.

Oversee design and implementation of historical price database.

Design, develop and implement systems to automatically retrieve, organize, store, analyze and present fundamentals data.

Perform exploratory data analysis using either internally developed models or commercial statistical software.

Prepare studies, reports and presentations from various sources including consultant views.



Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, finance, economics, or other quantitative field or the equivalent combination and experience.

3-5 years experience using statistics and conducting database searches in the energy industry.

Familiarity with statistics, regression analysis and forecasting methods.

Familiarity with PC software, including spreadsheets, word processing and databases.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated research skills.

Experience with build out of pipeline sequencing model is preferable
