Global Subsea Well Completion Engineer (3)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States Research, development and the deployment of technology for Shell's global exploration and production businesses is managed by Shell?s technology division of Shell International Exploration and Production (SIEP). Two companies, one based in The Netherlands and the other in the United States, work together to provide a wide range of products and services to Shell companies in the sector.

For more than 80 years, Shell's EP business has had central laboratories in each location to ensure that knowledge is gathered and shared among all Shell's Operating Companies. Shell's EP research center, Bellaire Technology Center, is one of the main technology centers for Shell globally, with other EP technology centers in Houston and New Orleans in the U.S. In-house R&D is supported by partnerships with external companies to maintain Shell?s leading edge technology for supply to Shell companies as well as the open market.

Shell International Exploration and Production Inc. is currently seeking a Subsea Well Completion Engineer for its Houston, Texas location.

Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for providing well completion expertise to the subsurface teams, from concept to detailed design, installation and start-up.

Key accountabilities include:
- Evaluating various prospect development options, well analysis, detailed well completion design, participating in operability reviews, developing contracting strategies, identifying and procuring equipment and services, preparing completion procedures and supporting offshore engineering operations
- Evaluating and developing new or novel technologies and development systems - Developing CTR?s and work plans and delivering installed well completions that meet functional requirements, are reliable, and are completed within the budget and schedule commitments that are made
- Championing the Deliver the Limit (DTL) Completion Process and executing DTL on the wells that are being completed
- Serving as a member of a subsea development project team
- Evaluating and developing new or novel technologies and development systems

Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering and have approximately 10 or more years relevant industry experience.

Additional Requirements:
- Experience in the design and completion of wells
- Fundamental knowledge of rig operations
- Knowledge of well analysis tools such as Prosper or WEPS/HORVIP along with sand control and frac packing technology is desirable
- Exposure to well systems in the offshore environment is desirable
- A broad perspective, a systems approach, leadership skills and good technical judgment
- Ability to be customer focused
- Ability to work effectively with others
