HYDRO MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

 

Responsibilities:.

?  Operational Excellence:  Through supervision and management of the Helms Maintenance team, establish and implement criteria for being a leader in Hydro Generation and Pumped-Storage Maintenance. This position will require development of processes, standards and procedures to establish Helms Maintenance as best in class. This will include updating, communicating, training and performing in the following: maintenance strategy, procedures, clearance procedures and policies, historical database and standardization.  Supervise 12 employees.

 

?  Financial Contribution:  Maximize the financial contribution of the watershed. Risks (safety, environmental, regulatory, equipment and financial) must be identified and managed appropriately to protect the corporation and maximize asset value.

 

?  Strategic Investment and Work Management:  Provide key input to the strategic investment process. Utilize the work management system and other tools to support effective management of the watershed assets and resources. This will include communicating, training and implementation of SAP Work Management, condition assessment, root cause analysis and corrective action program.

 

?  Safety and Environmental:  Take a leadership role in establishing a Zero Accident culture.  Proactively addresses safety issues, builds safety into everything we do and maintains an absolute commitment to safety for self and others.  Be a leader in establishing environmental stewardship. Proactively addresses environmental issues.  Take a leadership role in audits and the resulting corrective action.


Essential/Required:

?  5+ years experience in hydro maintenance including three years in pump/storage

?  Ability to work well in a team environment

?  Supervisory experience

?  Strong oral and written communication skills

?  Good Microsoft Outlook and Word skills

?  Live onsite at employee housing provided at low nominal monthly rate

?  Ability to work and drive effectively in all weather conditions. 

?  Ability to work effectively with the physical requirements of the work site, such as climbing multiple stairs and work in confined spaces

?  Ability to work near energized and rotating equipment

?  Valid driver?s license

?  Ability to be on call for emergencies to assist in 24/7 work environment
