Position - Service Manager

Position Objective

-- to lead, manage and direct all activities of Energy Systems service business including acquiring, training and retaining service personnel to achieve superior capabilities to satisfy our customers; meet service parts and training business goals; and meet environmental compliance and safe work practices.
-- to grow service/aftermarket business.



Principal Respnsibilities

-- manage responsiveness to customer calls for service work; manage the service team as it evaluates appropriate course of action regarding service needs; develop and supervise processes to schedule service personnel in most efficient and productive manner possible.
-- evaluate service technicians to maximize utilization metrics; must meet customer needs as well as leverage for profit.
-- utilize advancing technology to leverage business results (ie work sheduling software).
-- develop and implement creative sales programs in order to effectively sell aftermarket capabilities to attract and satisfy customers; effectively collaborate with Sales Manager and staff.
-- manage and maintenance of accurate and current service reports, including service metrics, warranty, invoicings, purchase orders, work orders, start-ups and maintenance logs.
-- effectively resolve customer disputes; could be warranty issues, quality issues, invoicing conflicts; may require collaboration with various business units.
-- manage service team's travel/expense budgets.
-- manage the preparation of all service quotations and proposals.
-- maintain governmental safety compliance records and files as required; promote safe work practices through policy enforecement and training regarding safety and environmental concerns.
-- interface with IR manufacturing locations and vendor factories regarding engineering, service training and warranty problems.
-- recruit, select, hire and assess service technician personnel; train and develop personnel to meet continually advancing customer requirements; coach and manage performance as needed.
--manage remote service parts inventory to maintain count accuracy at 99% or better



Formarl Education Requirement

High School diploma or equivalent required. College degree not required

Minimum of 5 years leading and managing an industrial service business and team of technical personnel, in addition to minimum of 5 years of hands-on technical service or installation experience.
