Develop detailed engineering job packages for modifications or additions to microwave, radio, fiber, and leased circuit transport facilities 2. Document engineering designs and field revisions using AutoCad and Visio drawing tools 3. Develop/Modify remote terminal unit configurations as require to support new installations and ongoing revisions. 4. Develop detailed engineering required to interface FirstEnergy remote terminal units to a variety of intelligent electronic devices in various company locations such as substations and generating plants. 5. Develop detailed engineering to provide appropriate connections to FirstEnergy's wide area network for RTU communications. 6. Serve as project lead or team participant for the implementation of Network Services projects as required 7. Provide technical support to operations groups as required 8. Keep abreast of new technology developments through research and reading 9. Prepare written and oral reports to keep team leads informed of work progress 10. Participate in Network Services on-call rotation as directed

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Technology

Must have the analytical ability to resolve complex technical issues

Must have demonstrated effective written and oral communications skills

Preferred

Experience in the development of engineering packages relating FirstEnergy's communications and electrical facilities

Knowledge of data networking technology and standards

Certification as a professional engineer
