Instrument Physicist

Primary Purpose of Position:
Maintain the Radiation Protection portable and fixed instrumentation in an operable and ready status through ensuring proper calibrations and surveillances are performed to meet all state, federal and company regulations.

Major Accountabilities:
1. Responsible for the maintenance and oversight of the Radiation Protection portable and fixed instrumentation programs and Calibration Facility. This includes the purchase, calibration and upgrade of associated instrumentation.
2. Accountable for ensuring RP surveillances are scheduled and performed to meet all regulatory requirements.
3. Responsible for the administration of the station respiratory program.
4. Responsible for maintaining remote monitor and fiber backbone system.

Position Requirements:
1. High school degree required.
2. Minimum of 5 years of Nuclear Experience with at least 3 years experience in calibration and maintenance of testing equipment, or equivalent.
3. Ability to gain/maintain nuclear unescorted access.
4. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
5. Must live or move within range to be an active participant of the Site Emergency Plan.

Preferred:
1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics or related technical degree.
