Integrity Management Engineer

BP has opened exciting new opportunities, and is currently seeking candidates for multiple Integrity Management (IM) Engineer positions in several Houston and Alaska-based businesses.  These positions will be focused on meeting the requirements of BP's IM standard and will be responsible for ensuring the technical assurance processes, systems, and implementation plans are in place to manage both the technical and mechanical integrity of the assets.


Accountabilities Include:

Provide guidance and coaching to ensure technical assurance, IM programs are fully implemented, continuously improved, and where required, executed in compliance with the IM standard.
Support development and implement IM action plan for asset based on technical gap analysis data (identifying where we are not in compliance with BP's IM standard).
Coordinate the implementation of the IM action plan (interface with Operations IM Coordinator), ensuring timely closeout of actions to ensure compliance and track and communicate asset's progress.
Input into identifying IM key performance indicators.
Support Facility Manager's monthly report and asset leadership team quarterly report on progress of IM action plan for asset.
Support and update/communicate asset 3-year rolling plan and ensure alignment with Strategic Performance Unit (SPU) 3-year rolling plan.
Review updated plan with Team Leader annually, as needed.
Initiate and facilitate IM efforts to meet action plan including:

Develop and administer major hazards (HAZOP) registers for each asset.
Revalidate 5-year formal safety assessment and safety critical equipment registers.
Perform safety integrity level studies for each asset.
Revalidate/develop risk-based inspection programs from the wells to the export pipelines; identifying gaps and managing the interfaces.
Assist with tracking, projects, and closure of any action items from the asset's major accident risk assessment.
Assist with tracking, projects, and closure of any action items from the asset's fire/gas blast study.
Work with Mechanical Integrity Corrosion Engineer and Chemist for SPU to understand, assist with, and analyze corrosion, cathodic protection, chemical injection, and risk based inspection program results.
Analyze asset's IM incident trends (leaks, IM major incidents, high potentials) and track action items and assist with coaching on reporting as/if necessary.
Liaise with Facilities, Operations, and Maintenance/IM teams to assist with root cause failure analyses, analysis of inspection results, and implementation of solutions - including small projects as necessary.
Support projects/modifications and identify IM requirements and opportunities for improvement to IM plans.
Supply input to medium to large capital projects. 


Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Integrity Management Engineer applicants must have:

Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer.
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline.
Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience, including process safety and/or operations.
Minimum of intermediate-level commitment to process safety and integrity management.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Organized with good planning and follow-up skills.
Self motivated and persistent.
Ability to work both independently and as a good team player.


Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:

In depth knowledge of IM and risk assessment.
Experience coaching, training and mentoring.
General understanding of IM issues, including materials selection, chemical inhibition, coatings, cathodic protection, process safety and risk mitigation.
A commercial and business awareness which can be demonstrated by the development and application of innovative solutions in the area of IM.
Experience collating and presenting new ideas to both to senior management and peers.
Ability to initiate and execute multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
