Journeyman Electrician

 

Performs electrical maintenance on and repairs to all types of power plant equipment.  Investigates faulty equipment operation and applies corrective measures to all types of electrical equipment.  Performs PLC programming and troubleshooting as necessary.  Utilizes and maintains equipment or tools necessary to perform duties of the job. Performs other similar or less skilled work as assigned.

These positions require five years? experience in a power plant or similar industrial setting maintaining an electrical generation facility, or other heavy industrial facility, or a similar military experience background, with three years as a Journeyman Electrician. Successful completion of a certified apprenticeship, OR equivalent training must be documented and sent in with your application.

Applicants should have experience working with high-voltage, 3-phase electricity. Experience in the use of electrical test equipment, maintaining AC/DC circuits and equipment, maintaining circuit breakers, motor control centers and transformers and PLC familiarization is also required. Applicants should also be able to troubleshoot electrical circuits and read and update wiring diagrams and prints. Note: only experienced industrial electricians are eligible for consideration. COMMERCIAL OR RESIDENTIAL EXPERIENCE DOES NOT QUALIFY.

You must have successfully completed a certified electrician apprenticeship or had equivalent training AND THE DOCUMENTATION TO SHOW PROOF OF THE APPRENTICESHIP or EQUIVALENT TRAINING MUST BE SENT IN WITH YOUR APPLICATION FOR YOU TO BE CONSIDERED.

A valid driver?s license and a high school diploma or GED are required

 

Salary:  $31.44

 

Testing: 

1st Round=SRA Reading and Written tests time allotted 5hrs, receive the recommended score and you will be invited back for

2nd Round=Practical/Hands On test time allotted 4hrs, receive the recommended score and you will be invited back for

3rd Round=Panel interview and Physical Abilities Test ( PAT) time allotted 4hrs
