JOB SUMMARY
Leads competitive strategy development, defines and evaluates marketing tactics, campaigns and products, and manages P&L activities related to South Texas consumer markets management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned. Directly or through others, the incumbent:
? Works collaboratively with marketing services, operations, financial planning and accounting, product development, legal and regulatory, wholesale, and other support functions to develop business cases supporting initiatives, new products and services, and all significant investments of financial capital. Develops and ensures consistent, objective modeling, analysis and valuation of all significant projects across the business.
? Analyzes markets and identifies, promotes, and manages market segments, innovative strategies, and defines objectives, goals and initiatives that improve the bottom line EBIT and NPV of the consumer business.
? Actively participates in cross-functional teams, providing analysis expertise, offering original perspectives, and challenging the conventional view to align decision-making and adapt to changing market conditions.
? Maintains high level of open communication and morale within the work group and among supporting work groups.
? Manages the annual and quarterly planning and monthly P&L variance analysis and reporting for the North Texas consumer business with a high degree of quality and insight. Responsible for short and long term financial and operational goals of the North Texas consumer business.
? Establishes, communicates, monitors, and maintains consumer performance goals. Aggressively performance manages and meets key results objectives regarding gross margin, customer retention and acquisition, SG&A, capital investments, and operating costs.
? Effectively communicates consumer strategies, objectives and business plans across the organization.
? Manages people, resources, and activities related to consumer market management. Trains and builds employee development in key areas affecting consumer performance. Mentors, coaches and provides guidance on career development for team members.
? Ensures technical knowledge, skills, and experience are developed and maintained within the team and ensures appropriate backup and continuity exists among the positions and priorities.
? Constantly evaluates the competitive market, competitors and enables rapid adaptation to changing market conditions to maintain superior competitive positioning.
? Recommends, creates, and negotiates profitable arrangements with partners to achieve long-term business objectives.

Qualifications:
The minimum education requirements are:
? Bachelor?s Degree in Business, Finance or Economics
The minimum experience requirements are:
? 6-8 years job related experience, preferably in the energy industry, regulated electricity, or similar relevant work experience
? 2 years experience in retail energy, regulated electricity or gas, or similar relevant work experience in mass retail
? Project management or supervisory experience of at least 2 years
Preferred background and knowledge requirements:
? MBA, CPA, CFA or demonstrated working knowledge of a P&L and key business drivers
? 4-5 years supervisory or project management experience
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
? Occasional long, irregular hours.
? Use of a PC, computer terminal and/or telephone over 3 hours a day.
