Description:

Contribute to and execute TXUW IT strategy while tracking spend across the business unit.  Perform business-side IT project management for medium to large initiatives.  Assist in managing day-to-day relationship with CapGemini Energy concerning future and in-flight IT projects, support issues, and metrics.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned. Directly or through others, the incumbent will:

? Work very closely with Trading, Asset Management, Fundamentals, Risk, Accounting, Regulatory, and CapGemini Energy to develop IT strategy and spend decisions
? Handle day-to-day business-side project management of systems installations, upgrades, and enhancements ? includes tracking of requirements, timelines, and financials
? Contribute to  IT ?big picture? decisions across TXU Wholesale business units, including Nodal initiatives
? Support yearly budget development and monthly tracking of all Wholesale IT spend, including projects, licenses, support, and other areas
? Understand both existing business needs and direction as well as functionality of technology
? Develop detailed business requirements and/or business cases, when needed, regarding IT projects, including opportunity cost analysis of system upgrades, changes, and retirement. 
? Conduct/manage package selection, buy vs build decisions, etc.
? Service Coordination of WM user applications & storage/archiving requirements, including Lodestar, SAS, Zainet, ESCAPE, GCS, RAFT, Gentrader, related sharepoints, and other systems
? Create management reporting & conduct presentations
? Oversee TXU initiatives of internal & market systems synchronization
? Manage & implement system security & other related SOX requirements
? Ad hoc data analysis and manipulation for PUC reporting and other initiatives

Measures of Success:

? Delivery of planned technology projects on time and on budget
? Integration with the client business teams & an understanding of their business processes and interfaces

 

Qualifications:

? Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Business or Computer Science
? 7 years of IT experience (development, consulting, and/or project planning)
? 2 years of project management experience
? 2 years of Texas deregulated market and/or comparable Risk Management / Trading / Operations Support
? Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including experience working with consultants
? Skill in using computer software applications such as Microsoft Office, including Access database development and VBA coding
? Skill in problem solving, including SQL query development 
? Experience with Lodestar, SAS a plus
? Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and projects
? Broad understanding of the business considerations when implementing new business systems
