Meter Reader

Professional Water and Wastewater Management Company is looking for Meter Reader.  Company is located at Beltway 8 /Tanner Road in Houston Texas.All candidates must be able to train at the Sugar Land location.

 

Meter Reader ? Accurately read meters and record water usage for customers of client districts.

 

Primary Responsibilities

? Reads meters in assigned areas, walking from meter to meter

? Accurately records numbers on meters for use in calculating water usage

? Pumps water out of meter boxes or uses sight tube as necessary

? May drive vehicle as directed by supervisor

? Corresponds with supervisor/dispatcher by hand-held radio

? Notes problems with meters, leaks, etc. for utility service

 

Position Qualifications

? No prior experience; work is learned through on-the-job training

 

Physical Requirements

? Requires locating and lifting meter covers (may require digging)

? Stooping/bending/kneeling to clean out debris and water and read meters below the ground level

? Loading/unloading equipment from and riding to/from job site in a small truck/van;

? Considerable walking from meter to meter. 

 

  Working Conditions 

Work is performed primarily outdoors; incumbent is subjected to weather and environmental condition.

 

Salary:  approximately $8.00/hour depending upon experience
