REPORTS TO: New Projects Manager
SUMMARY:
This motivated individual will support the development of complex, large-scale wind power facilities by assisting in acquiring project land, reporting on topography and other land features, navigating in and around land areas of interest, reporting on project area viability, reviewing and understanding easement and anemometer agreement terms, approaching landowners and executing easements, assessing and acquiring land ownership documentation, working with county assessors and visiting county courthouses to obtain land legal descriptions, reviewing tax records for property descriptions, contacting and working with local officials to help facilitate land acquisition and approvals, supporting other land agents with legal descriptions and ownership information, conveying a positive image of Clipper in the community by engaging in various community activities, and providing on-going project support as needed.
This individual will work primarily in the early stages of the development process, frequently establishing Clipper?s first point of contact in a community. This dynamic position requires an inspired individual able to work within Clipper?s team atmosphere. A working knowledge of the entire development process, including construction, is paramount both for landowner discussions and site evaluations.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:Successful experience negotiating and acquiring utility leases, easements, rights-of-way and purchases with diverse landowners for energy / infrastructure projects. Performing land ownership researchFamiliarity with standard land contracts, specifically legal and commercial termsCommunity engagement and early stage project viability assessment skillsWorking knowledge of energy / infrastructure project development process, including construction and operation, desirable; Specific wind knowledge desirable, but not requiredStrong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to edit and compose report text and correspondence and to present company information articulately.Able to effectively manage multiple activities simultaneouslyTeam-oriented individual willing to shift focus quickly and efficiently between varying prioritiesWillingness to travel extensively and remain in a prospecting region as long as two weeks at a time, willingness to travel with little advanced notice.Strong organizational skills requiredPolite, professional manner requiredMust possess a valid driver?s license and proof of insurance
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Minimum two years? experience in wind or related project land acquisition.Excellent map interpretation and navigation skills. Well versed in plat maps, topo maps and mapping software. Ability to accurately operate GPS navigation tools.Expert proficiency with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Project and Access a plus; web-savvy.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequent travel throughout the US including field deployments averaging two to three weeks or longer at individual sites
