Oil and Gas Technician

An independent oil and gas company is looking for an experienced petroleum industry technician to provide assistance to their geologist, and petroleum engineers to help relieve routine duties which include gathering and organizing data for property development and prospect exploration.

  Position requires a BS in Geology or a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as an engineering or geological technician with an oil and gas company or a consulting firm.  The candidate will be responsible for the following:

?  Collecting, collating and processing data from well files and/or programs such as Lasser, IHS, Drilling Information, and organizing this data into formats that can be imported into MS Office Suite programs, Geographix, OGRE, Adobe Illustrator and or Corel Draw,

?  Recognizing and organizing well information and properly filing this data into the well files,

?  Researching the well files and generating wellbore schematics and other reports on completion and production testing required by the geologist and engineers,

?  Providing on-site work at various log libraries to pull scout card information and open hole well logs for the geologist and petroleum engineers.

?  Have a basic understanding with open and cased hole logging curves to provide accurate digitized log data that can be utilized by into various logging programs for analysis.

?  Capable of digitizing well spots, lease lines, contours, and other such mapping information.  .

?  Ability to set up data sets for mapping, and petroleum type programs.

?  Provide support with filing state regulatory information for wells.
