Performance Engineer - Power Plant/Performance/Test 40-50 $/hr
Client has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a couple of hands on Performance Test Engineer with 7-25 years of experience in the power industry. A BS degree in Engineering is preferred. You will conduct high accuracy performance tests (unit net heat rate, boiler performance, turbine section efficiency, etc.) to support the operation of fossil fired power plants. You will be expected to calibrate, install and maintain all test instrumentation for the purpose of conducting high accuracy performance tests of power generation equipment including boilers, turbines, condensers, feedwater heaters, cooling towers, pumps, and other plant auxiliaries. You need an in-depth understanding of plant operations & knowledge of ASME Performance Testing codes and standards. You need experience with the following: (1) data acquisition tools (Netcom, WNetcom, DataQ, and ScanNT), (2) performance calculations tools (Boiler, Turbine, Pump, and Calcsoft), & (3) power plant modeling tools (PROATES, FCYCLE, and EBalance).
