Company Brief: *Located in the northeast United States, this Independent System Operator (ISO) is responsible for day-to-day operation of the region's bulk generation and transmission systems; and in addition to operating the bulk power grid, works closely with its stakeholders and FERC to administer the region's wholesale electricity marketplace and the Open Access Transmission Tariff.  The company is actively developing system enhancements to identify future electricity needs and promote infrastructure improvements to the region and is expanding staff in connection with its operational excellence initiative.  Excellent compensation, including salary, bonus, full benefits and relocation assistance.


Job Description: *Principal Analyst, Business Architecture.  This position is responsible for providing research and development support in the area of power system analysis, control and market design in New England.  Additionally, the qualified candidate will develop and present business and technical solutions for assigned projects; conduct research and development for major company technical initiatives and innovations; and provide preventative and proactive analysis of the business needs for new solutions and tools.


Qualifications:  *Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with Power Systems Option; or Master’s degree in Operations Research and 7+ years experience in the electric utility industry is required; a Ph.D. in Power Systems is preferred.  Must possess strong knowledge of power system modeling and operations, transient and voltage stability analysis, electricity pricing models and markets in addition to strong mathematical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Knowledge of MATLAB, CPLEX or similar tools and experience with Unit Commitment and Economic Dispatch methodology or online stability analysis is highly desirable.
