Principal DCIS Engineers

Seeking experienced Distributed Control Information Systems Engineers for long-term contract positions in Wilmington, NC.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: B.S. in Engineering Discipline. Minimum 10 years experience in nuclear power plant Control Room Design including upgrades to DCIS architecture. Experienced and knowledgeable with use of real-time simulation platforms in power plant control and instrumentation design and Main Control Room development through the product life cycle. Knowledge of the DCIS Software and HFE/HMI requirements (NUREG-0700/0800, SRP Sections 7 (BTP14) and 18) for Control Room Design. 3 years experience in supervisory position of a Design or DCIS Group. Design experience in Power Plant System design, development, integration, operation and test and evaluation. Able to coordinate with others at all levels. Excellent writing and verbal communications skills. Project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and prioritizing DCIS and I&C scope.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESBWR I&C system design activities such as:

Technical leadership of Engineers & Integrators responsible for: DCIS Planning Documents that meet NRC requirements as defined in NUREG-0800 (SRP). DCIS Design and Implementation Documents that implement above plans. Plant Computer Subsystem of DCIS. Plant Alarm Subsystem of DCIS. Plant Automation System/Subsystem of DCIS. Interaction with NRC and Utility during the certification and design phases. Test Requirements & Acceptance Criteria for DCIS. Other applicable DCIS Design activities through the product life cycle of the project. Develop DCIS Standardized efforts for Project Consistency / Implementation with plant Designers / Principal Engineers. Develop / Maintain DCIS Programs within Group. Develop / Maintain subject experts applicable to DCIS Design, Equipment, Programs, etc.

 

DESIRED: Experience with ABWR/BWR. M.S. in Engineering Discipline (Controls, Electrical, Mechanical) HFE/HMI qualifications per NUREG-0800 SRP Section 18 Leader of Design Group Minimum of four years recent Distributed Control & Information System experience Experience and knowledge of real-time power plant simulation Quality Assurance experience and training on nuclear plants.
