Process Coordinator-Vacuum and Coking

Leading independent refiner serving the Western United States has an immediate opening for a Chemical Engineer with at least 15 years experience in refining. This consulting engineer will serve as a subject matter expert, leader, mentor and change agent and will work collaboratively with firms refineries to improve yields, increase EDC utilization, reduce operating costs and develop capital projects. Key responsibilities include: levering knowledge and expertise to support the refineries and enable firm to build and deliver world-class capability around refining and improve efficiencies of daily operations, Work closely with refineries to develop and maintain in depth up to date understanding of current state for each refinery, participate in audits to assess capabilites of each refinery and keep strengths and weaknesses well understood and in front of refinery management. Will determine characteristics of desired state of refining with respect to Crude, Coking, Heavy Oils, Separation and Distillation, stay abreast of latest developments within technology, equipment and systems related to Crude, Coking, Heavy Oils, Distillation and Separation, utilizes disciplined, systematic approach to review potential initiatives for improving refiniing operations, develops points of view on feasibility, viability and implementation risk using quantitative measurements and criteria, cooperate with refinery and performance management in implementation of best operating practices. Successful candidate will have a Chemical engineering degree with 15 years experience in refining, preferably in multiple refineries or oprating companies. Should be a recognized expert in crude, coking, heavy oils, distillation and seperation technology, Capital Project Development experience, influencing skills and the ability to work well with others, good communication skills and be able to work cross functionally and be able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
