The creation of BP's new Alternative Energy business has opened up a number of exciting and challenging projects that are in the early stages of development. Consequently, there is a need to bring onboard project management expertise to manage those activities. The Project Manager-Wind will play a key role in managing the overall delivery of wind developments through early development into commercial operations.

Accountabilities Include:
Manage the safe delivery of multiple projects from definition through construction, commissioning and testing to meet the project operational goals which will include schedule and budget targets on time, within budget and to appropriate quality and environmental management standards.
Support the Development Director with engineering/construction expertise and working with the Contract Negotiators through the negotiation, development and finalization of the commercial contracts and permits required to successfully deliver the project.
Develop appropriate contracting and procurement strategies for project delivery.
Work with the Development Director to establish the project team, including site and contractor interfaces, and manage the performance of project team members.
Work with the Development Director to ensure all project engineering and specialist engineering support services, as well as project implementation services are made available at the appropriate times to sustain effective project execution.
Develop and maintain the project execution plan.
Lead and manage the performance of the project team, oversee and monitor the performance of and contractors to optimize project delivery in accordance with project scope, timelines, quality standards and budget together with safety and environmental management targets.
Provide input, based on project experience, into the benchmarking of the construction of the plant.
Ensure appropriate stage-gate project management process principles and practices are applied to the project.
Establish and maintain internal project management processes for Heath, Safety, Security & Environment, budget, program, quality, and personnel performance.
Report and communicate the performance through the execution construction of the project, including providing assurance to the group that the project is constructed in accordance with the group standards and that the plant meets the statutory and regulatory legal standards.
Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Project Manager-Wind, applicants must have:
Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer.
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in an engineering discipline.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management in the energy industry.
Experience leading of a minimum of 2 projects of $100M or greater.
A minimum of 5 years of experience being a Project Manager for wind projects.
The willingness and ability to travel up to 33% of the time in order to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:
A minimum of 1 wind project, as a Project Manager, where the project site is shared with a host industrial partner.
A minimum of 5 years of experience leading and/or participating in the negotiation of Engineering, Procurement and Construction contracts.
Experience with both gas-fired power and wind projects.
Project Management certification.
