Reservoir Engineer

Shell International Exploration and Production (SIEP) Inc. is currently seeking (10) Reservoir Engineers for its Houston, Texas location.

Responsibilities:

In this position you will deploy the most appropriate dynamic reservoir modeling technology in the most efficient way, while maintaining a high level of integration with static modelers and with the project teams or the OU?s. You will be a member of the Deepwater Theme group which is an immediate sphere of influence. You will have work challenges that mainly include a major integrated development study providing advice in area of expertise, integrating results with development planners and economics and addressing the full project lifecycle. You will influence projects which may range from several hundred million to billions of dollars. You will have a role in the sharing of best practices and coaching other reservoir engineers. You will have some contact with new technology developments in EPT-R (Research and Development) through which you may stimulate and initiate implementation of appropriate new technology, as a member of the Deepwater group. You will be presented with a unique chance to acquire global overview.

Key Accountabilities include:
Experiencing a great variety of work with very different technical and business challenges, covering exploration and/or appraisal/development drilling programs, scoping studies for new developments, field development planning, production optimization and regional studies - Having a major impact on business decisions, highly visible at Group level, with linkage to the possible future of Shell EP business, as well as exposure to other parts of the SIEP organization in both research and business
Experiencing the opportunity to work with experts in every discipline and improving the project work process from both EPT itself and other technology teams
Having opportunities to learn and employ the latest technologies, and to produce high standard technical work with complete focus
Playing a lead role in providing RE technical input required for the development opportunity within the Shell Deepwater Group
Being responsible for the reservoir engineering work content and quality in the studies that are assigned
Supporting the scoping of new projects, being involved in project framing and development of forward work programs
Having a good understanding of the reservoir simulation techniques (including the related PVT, SCAL and well testing aspects) for a wide range of reservoir engineering and integrated reservoir problems
Maintaining world class expertise in at least one area of reservoir engineering
Giving feedback from a project perspective to the R&D teams

Requirements:

To be considered for this position you must possess a Bachelor Science degree, along with a minimum of 5 years work experience in deepwater reservoir engineering including experience in reservoir simulation techniques. MS/PhD is preferred.
