Location: Louisiana, United States Overview: Shell Exploration and Production Company (SEPCo) is engaged in exploring for and producing oil and natural gas reserves in the United States. For more than 80 years, we have been an industry leader in finding new energy supplies and developing technology to safely recover them. A principle area of concentration is the Gulf of Mexico, where we are the largest producer of oil and natural gas and the leader in the deepwater frontier.

The EP Americas region (EPW) is being formed as part of the EP globalization efforts. EPW will be a key contributor in making Shell the best EP business, by maximizing the value from our robust existing asset base and unlocking our outstanding growth potential.

Shell Exploration and Production Company is currently seeking a Reservoir Engineer for it's Houston and Louisiana location.

Responsibilities:

In this position, you will have a broad outline of accountabilities. You will be required to have a broad knowledge of all aspects of the E & P business.

Accountabilities will include:
Working with members of a multidisciplinary field team to complete a comprehensive study of the field production performance, find improvement opportunities, and use this information in development planning
Reservoir simulation sensitivities on existing subsurface models as well as development of new models and simulations to evaluate emerging subsurface concepts
The identification, economic evaluation, justification, and execution of future development opportunities including uphole recompletions and sidetracks
Screening of new technology for use in field development planning
Participation in the annual Business Plan and Reserve Report
Close interaction with Well Delivery Engineers and occasional meetings with the Minerals Management Service regulatory group and partners

Requirements:

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering related discipline along with approximately 5 or more years of relevant work experience. You must be experienced in subsurface modeling, reservoir simulations, and have a strong background in field development planning and/or reservoir surveillance. You must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well in a diverse, multidisciplinary team environment. Experience with turbidite reservoirs and deepwater development programs are highly desired.
