SOFTWARE PROGRAMMER

Power Generation at FPL. Duties include developing new and supporting maintenance and modifications of applications based on given specifications.

Organizational Unit is a critical component of plant operations monitoring for extensive power generation network throughout the USA. 

Position will include software programming, software logic design, and supporting existing client side applications, and testing data analysis and predictive monitoring concepts for Power Generation Division. This is not simply a coder or programming position and requires broader and more proactive analytics and development capability.

 

Ideal candidate will have worked in or had applied knowledge in the area of Data Mining, Statistical Data Analysis, Six Sigma Techniques, Pattern Recognition, Database Connectivity, Plant or Manufacturing Process Control, Predictive Analysis Techniques, and Software development using Real Time or Streaming Data.

 

* Successful candidate will have engineering experience or education including mathematics and statistical modeling in addition to computer sciences

* Ability to define methodology and programming needs given problematic circumstance

* Experience working in a real-time monitoring and real-time streaming data environment

* Degree in Computer Science or Engineering Required

 

Thorough knowledge of Visual Basic 6 or other Microsoft Visual Studio programming languages, Java/Java Server pages, SQL, ASP, ActiveX development, data collection, analysis and storage required.
