BP has opened exciting new opportunities for Senior Completions Engineers at various skill levels in North America, including the Gulf of Mexico (GoM) and Alaska.  The Senior Completions Engineer will deliver planning and execution of cost-effective completion designs for new oil & gas wells, including flow modeling, stress analysis, equipment specification, cost estimating and project appraisal.

Accountabilities Include:

Preparing completion programs, including flow modeling, stress analysis, equipment specification and selection, cost estimates and post appraisals.
Evaluating operations execution.
Documenting key directives from post appraisals.
Ensuring completion programs, program amendments, and dispensation to policy are prepared on schedule and are adequately risk assessed.
Liaising with sub-surface and production team to ensure life-of-field requirements are built into the completion design.
Monitoring all aspects of well completion operations.
Performing post-analyses and benchmarking the results.
Observing service company inspections.
Recommending engineering studies to improve completion operational performance.


Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Senior Completions Engineer applicants must have:

A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Completions or Production Engineer.
Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree or higher in an Engineering discipline.
A minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Completion or Production Engineer on fields or properties located in the GoM.
Previous personal responsibility for creating a completion design for an offshore oil and gas well.


Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:

A minimum of 10 years of experience in well completions operations.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time to monitor critical operations in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position, if needed.
Previous experience as a Completions or Production Engineer for a company that operates oil & gas fields in the GoM.
Significant experience in sand control.
Strong commitment to Health, Safety and Environment.
Previous personal responsibility for designing a completion utilizing a fracture stimulation gravel pack.
Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
Knowledge of flow assurance issues.
Willingness and ability to work in small, confined places, on high platforms, walk on high elevation grating over water, walk up and down steps, ride in a helicopter or boat over GoM waters and be transferred via personnel basket swung by a crane, for  offshore positions.
Understanding of inflow performance.
