Senior Director M/N Project

 

The United Illuminating Company, Headquartered in New Haven Connecticut is an investor-owned regional electric utility that provides service to more than 314,000 customers in the greater New Haven and Bridgeport area. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team in our New Haven facility.

 

This position is responsible for overseeing the Middletown Norwalk Project including keeping the project on schedule, within budget, and within scope through staff leadership, development, and motivation. Identifies emerging issues and recommend appropriate actions that produce shareholder value and meet internal and external customer needs. Develops and implement cogent Project monitoring and reporting systems. Directs and or participate in the development and processing of various permit requirements. Directs and or participate in various project support communication and public relations initiatives. Develops business strategies and initiatives to leverage ancillary value of project assets. Provides post Project follow up to insure original anticipated values are achieved.

 

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor?s degree in Business Management, Master?s degree preferred and 10 Years Project Level experience and a minimum of 5 years of Line-Management. Emphasis in Project Management, Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) planning and management or Process Master, Risk Analysis and Mitigation, Negotiation and Communication skills. Must have a proven track record as a program and/or project manager, particularly leading cross-functional teams on complex projects with high visibility. Ability to relate projects and programs to business strategy. Other requirements include being able to simultaneously manage various projects as well as lead project management process improvement initiatives. Must be skilled in the use of project management tools, such as Microsoft Project, and be knowledgeable of the use of other project management tools and techniques, such as risk management. Must possess excellent writing and verbal skills with the ability to create and deliver effective Project reports and presentations. Must communicate well at all levels of the organization.
