Senior Electrical / I&C Design Engineer

Location:  Brunswick Nuclear Plant, Southport, NC

This position is for an Electrical or I&C Design Engineer at the Brunswick Nuclear Plant.  As a member of the Design Engineering Unit, the incumbent will provide senior level engineering support for the development of plant modification packages and engineering evaluations/calculations. The incumbent will participate on multi-discipline design teams to assess equipment/plant performance issues and develop the necessary corrective actions.

Other duties include obtaining and maintaining qualification for support of the site Emergency Response Organization and engineering support for field activities associated with assigned system modifications and testing.

Requirements:
---BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline is required. 
---Five years of experience in an engineering job related to electrical/I&C design support is desired. A professional engineer registration is desirable.
---Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and a working knowledge of Windows-based computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite are required.
---Experience in digital control systems, programmable logic controllers, and general process instrumentation and controls is desirable.

Additional requirements include obtaining and maintaining unescorted access to the nuclear plant and participation in the random fitness for duty program. Position will require some call-out and outage support.

Basic qualifications:  Fully competent in use of both principles and application.  Works independently on tasks/projects with limited supervision.  Receives guidance only unusual or complex projects or issues.  Identifies problems and possible solutions and takes appropriate action for resolution. Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET or equivalently accredited school and 5+ years professional experience.
