Senior Process Engineer – Projects - DPR

Shell Oil Products US is currently seeking Senior Process Engineer for its Deer Park, Texas location.

Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for providing process engineering expertise in the justification, development, and implementation of projects to improve safety and environmental performance, reliability, and profitability within the Deer Park Refining Limited Partnership (DPRLP). In addition you may conduct special studies and provide supplemental production support to the refinery. DPRLP is currently initiating scouting activities for $350MM+ in refinery growth and upgrading projects. You will provide lead process engineering role for portions of these projects.

Key Accountabilities Include:
- Assist in developing and refining project business cases
- Develop process design basis for projects
- Develop conceptual process designs and alternatives with recommendations or lead contractors in this effort
- Develop detailed process design utilizing company / industry standards or provide overview and technical assurance of contractors work product
- Perform economic evaluation of projects and update as developments warrant
- Coordinate process engineering interface with Shell Global Solutions for relevant projects / studies
- Coordinate process engineering activities / support during construction and startup
- Support project engineering in developing project scope, cost, schedule, and execution strategy
- Ensure appropriate input and consultation obtained from customers / stakeholders, technical, and business organizations to ensure projects are fit for purpose
- Support preparation of investment proposals and project reviews for Downstream One investment committees
- Lead Management of Change activities for project including SEORs/PSSRs, Safeguarding, ESP reviews, and PHAs
- Ensure appropriate environmental review and permitting of projects
- Conduct special studies or evaluations within the refinery as identified
- Provide supplemental production support as necessary

Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Bachelor?s Degree in Chemical Engineering degree with approximately 10 or more years of relevant professional experience, preferably 5 or more years in a manufacturing environment. Previous project and production support experience is preferred. Knowledge of project work processes is desirable. Knowledge of refinery technologies and integration is preferred.
