Senior Risk Control Analyst - Must have Natural Gas Exp.

Enbridge Energy Company, Inc, a leader in crude and natural gas transportation, gathering, and processing, is currently seeking a Senior Risk Control Analyst in our Houston,Texas office. Responsible for analyzing, assessing, modeling, monitoring and reporting the physical and financial risk in Enbridge Transportation Group South (TGS) business unit. Under direction of the Manager, the incumbent will provide oversight and support of the business unit risk management policy including development, compliance and reporting.

 



Specific duties include:

? Quantify and capture all relevant physical and financial commercial transactions in the Enterprise Risk System

? Analyze each product offering/contract and verify that all risk components have been identified and appropriately valued

? Maintaining other source transaction documentation and enhancing the risk models

? Analyze exposure to commodity price movements with TGS

? Calculate and report all required business unit and corporate risk metrics, which includes Mark-to-Market (MtM), Net Open Positions, Value at Risk (VaR), and Cash Flow at Risk (CFaR)

? Responsible for informing the TGS Risk Management Committee and the Corporate Risk Management Committee of any risk policy exceptions

? Executing daily risk calculations and producing analysis including MtM, Greeks, and sensitivities/stress testing reports.

? Testing new risk calculations, evaluating model assumptions

? Producing analysis and reports regarding MtM, profit/loss, realized profit/loss, exposure, transaction and market risks.

? Validating structured deals, valuation models and forward price curves

? Interact primarily with commercial marketing and structuring organization personnel

? Conduct reconciliations against reporting output from the Openlink and various other financial applications within the business units

? Assist in the development of commodity and credit risk policies that are consistent with supporting the overall Business Unit and Corporate strategies

? Support daily and monthly financial reporting process for Business Unit through review, reconciliation and financial variance analysis of commercial transactions.

? Work with and understand Enbridge financial and reporting systems

? Assist with audit engagements when necessary

? Special projects and other duties as assigned

 

Typical Qualifications:

? Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance with 7 to 10 years of Risk Management experience. 

? Understanding and ability to apply the concepts, volatility and correlation, as used in energy markets. The ability to analyze and reach conclusions on data is critical.

? Computer skills for use in entering, manipulating or modeling data in spreadsheets and databases, particularly Microsoft and Openlink Endur products are essential. Experience with Visual Basic and macro programming advantageous.

? Understanding of financial derivative instruments

? Understanding of transportation, storage and complex physical deals

? Working knowledge of FAS 133

? Understanding of trading concepts and trading operations regarding the front, middle and back office

? Strong communication and interpersonal skills

? Good planning and organizational skills

? Will be able to manage and organize own activities to achieve deadlines and contribute to the operation as a whole

Five (5) years Natural Gas industry experience strongly prefer
