The selected candidate will develop strategies for acquisitions of goods and services in a cost-effective and timely manner, while protecting the legal and commercial interests of the company.  A thorough knowledge of procurement philosophy, practices, methods, and responsibilities is necessary as well as a comprehensive knowledge of market conditions and suppliers for the electric utility industry. Excellent communication skills and human relation skills are required.  A Bachelor?s degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Science, Math, Engineering or similar field is preferred. Candidates with ten years? experience in an electric utility or closely related field and a Certified Purchasing Managers (CPM) credential will be given preference.
