Sr. Cost Estimator - Power Plant

Penpower currently has an immediate need for a Sr. Cost Estimator, specifically with ICARUS experience.

This position has a duration of 6 months. Candidates residing within a 50 mile radius of Houston are required.


Successful candidates must posses the following skills/experience:
Experience:

? BS Degree in Engineering Discipline and or Construction Management.
? 4 years experience in preparation of project estimates in power industry.
? Expert in process and techniques used for parametric cost estimating and variance analysis.
? Effective communication, interpersonal, facilitation and influencing skills
? Green Belt certification (not required)

Responsibilities include:

Responsible for developing the Balance of Plant (BOP)/Extended Scope estimates for IGCC Power Plant Bids. The estimators role is essential to assuring the profitability of new, high growth business for GE Energy. Estimates range from $250mm to over $500mm in project scope (equipment, construction, etc).

Essential functions include:

? Interpret drawings, specifications, and scope documents for thorough preparation of estimates.
? Work with cross-functional team to develop, review, and sign off BOP cost estimates.
? Develop conceptual estimates to determine the competitiveness of Partner bids.
? Compare and contrast material quantities, unit rates, and methodology against historical data to apprise management of potential risks inherent in each proposal.
? Complete variance analysis on actual vs. budgeted amounts for BOP/extended scope.
? Strong Written & Oral communication skills

Desired:
? Field experience in power &/or process industry (IGCC Plants, Refineries, Pulverized Coal Steam Plants).
? Experience in matrix type project based organization.
? Experience in computer aided estimating programs (success, WinEst, etc.).

Salary will be negotiated based on experience
