Sr. Purchasing Agent (2 positions)

Primary Function:

?

Under direction of the Manager of Purchasing, responsible for working with Engineering, Project Management and construction to procure equipment, materials and services in support of project engineering and construction needs.

?

Typical Duties:

?

1.???????? Develop bidder?s lists for each assigned procurement, promoting good competitive pricing, including commercial qualification review.

2.???????? Prepare and issue requests for quotation and invitations for bid from technical requirement documents and obtain competitive bids.

3.???????? Perform commercial bid evaluations.

4.???????? Negotiate legal terms and conditions of purchase with vendors.

5.???????? Compose and award purchase orders and subcontracts that are complete and definitive.

6.???????? Prepare and issue reports to management regarding the status of procurement.

7.???????? Assist in resolution of problems with vendors related to procured goods and services.

8.???????? Assist in training of new personnel.

9.???????? Provide technical guidance to Purchasing clerical staff and assist Purchasing Agents, Sr. Buyers and Buyers in complex/ unique situations.

10.????? Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

?

Five years experience in the procurement of capital equipment and construction subcontracts. Ability to work in a project team environment with multiple reporting lines.? Basic knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code and General Contract Law as well as strong, in-depth knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures and policies is required. Knowledge of engineering and construction industry.? Experience in negotiating legal terms and conditions.? Strong verbal and written communication skills.? PC skills in word processing and spreadsheets required.
