Sr Staff Deepwater Drilling Engineer

Leading independent oil and gas company is expanding drilling operations and needs to add to staff?an experienced Gulf of Mexico Deepwater Drilling Engineer for their New Orleans office.

Summary:?

Responsible for generating well plans, cost estimates and risk analysis for deepwater and deep HTHP shelf wells.? Work with regulatory and geological/geophysical groups?on Applications for Permits to Drill and Plans of Exploration.? Work with Drilling Superintendent to execute well plans and construct AFE and well plan details.? Monitor and track well costs and present and discuss plans, options, risk and cost with senior management.

Skills and Education Requirements:

B.S. in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent degree with 5+ years of deepwater experience in the Gulf of Mexico.? Must be capable of performing complex well designs inclusive of pore pressure and fracture gradient prediction, casing design and GHA and Landing String design.? Must be knowledgeable and experienced using complex directional drilling systems, inclusive of Rotary Steerable Systems and Steerable Systems as well as Logging While Drilling and wireline logging operations.? Must have the ability to design and effectively implement drilling plans in narrow margin environments; must have a thorough knowledge of cementing, drilling systems and well control; must be familiar with all aspects of deepwater and jack-up rig selection and operations and must have experience in mooring operations and design for deepwater rigs.
