Structural Engineer

Responsibilities:

Producing and checking structural design calculations, contract drawings, and specifications.

Performing engineering services during construction, including review of contractor submittals and response to contractor questions.

Performing field investigations and writing engineering reports.

Managing tasks on large projects or managing phases of small projects.

Independently performing most assignments with technical/administrative instructions as to results expected. Assistance may be furnished by a senior structural engineer and/or group leader on unusual problems.

Supervising the work of another engineer and/or draftsperson.

Participating to a limited degree in new business development in establishing scope of work and budgets.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have four to six years of experience in structural design and production of contract documents.

A B.S.C.E. is required, M.S.C.E. (structures) is preferred.

Experience with structural engineering software, such as RISA, STAAD.

Knowledge of commonly used computer software (Word, Excel, AutoCADD).

Knowledge of building codes and application to design situations.

Experienced and competent in design of reinforced concrete and structural steel.

Registration as a licensed P.E.is desired.
