Supervising Lead Estimator

Southern California Edison is seeking an experienced Supervising Lead Estimator. You will need to have some knowledge of large scale electric installations and construction methods, and preferably have direct experience with power substation design and construction. You will also be expected to read technical drawings, understand electrical diagrams and use computerized estimating programs to prepare cost estimates for large construction projects. Required for this position is a BA/BS Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Construction or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The successful candidate will possess five or more years experience in estimating, project controls, planning and/or construction management and will be well-grounded in the principles of project management and engineering economics; or five or more years experience managing/ supervising a staff of estimators and analysts. As the supervising Lead Estimator, you will also oversee, train and supervise a staff of estimators. Specific supervisory duties will include reviewing and approving completed estimates; initiating and monitoring progress and work flow and providing expertise to other departments who depend on the estimates for their work. Experience with ProEst estimating software is a plus.
