About the Opportunity This Supervisor of Regional Operations is accountable to direct and supervise employees engaged in complex construction, maintenance, repair, testing and operation of Electric Utility Transmission & Distribution facilities. Monitor the activities of line employees and enforce conformance to established work practices and methods (Preferred Practices Manual, Accident Prevention Handbook, Safety Specifications and Construction Standards). Implement instruction and training of employees in the established work practices and methods utilized throughout the department. Request and coordinate the availability of necessary equipment tools, materials and supplies required. Coordinate work with other departments and schedule construction, maintenance, repair or test work. Monitor and document work habits. Counsel employees, recommend corrective actions required to meet performance standards and acknowledge good work and work habits. Administer Company and Regional Absenteeism Management Program and Regional Safety Plan.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required, as well as specialized training or equivalent work experience.
An advanced level of knowledge and experience in operations, repair and construction related to Electric Utility Transmission and Distribution.
Must have knowledge of applied electricity to include AC and DC electrical circuits and equipment and knowledge of construction standards relating to Electric Transmission & Distribution facilities.
Must have thorough knowledge of General Safety and Accident Prevention specifications, and clearance and switching control procedures in Electric System Operations.
Must have the ability to learn various computer mainframe applications(CREWS, SAP, POWERON, AM/FM) and PC applications to include Lotus Notes and Microsoft Office. Must have the ability to make field drawings as required.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Ability to work in known and unknown environments and the ability to travel over developed and undeveloped terrain.
Ability to operate automobiles and trucks, and to a lesser extent, vocational equipment.
