Systems Administrator - Windows
Overview:
A System Administrator is a person who provides operating system support in order to provide sustainable, stable and secure enterprise level servers including backup recovery, performance tuning, upgrades/patches, maintenance, troubleshooting, permissions and file sharing.
Skill Requirements:
Knowledge of, and skill in applying
? Installation and maintenance of high-availability servers using Windows 2000 Server, or Windows 2003 Server (32bit and/or 64bit)
? Microsoft Windows 2003 Active Directory
? Virtual Server Technology using Microsoft Virtual Server or VMWare.
? Microsoft Windows Clustering Technology
? Interconnectivity with Windows (2003/xp) for file, mail and print sharing
? High Availability RAID and SAN storage solutions such as HP EVA and HP MSA1000
? Installation of server hardware including processors, memory, controller cards, hba (host based adapter) and network cards.
? WSH and VB Scripting
Sufficient to:
? Build and maintain a Microsoft Windows Active Directory Domain including schema updates and creation of GPO and security patching for a large Active Directory environment
? Show experience working in a large production environment
? Support cluster/disaster recovery and ensure continuous availability of business-critical applications
? Install and configure server hardware including operating system and additional software to configure for optimal use
? Troubleshooting hardware and system level problems
? Determine and build Virtual Server Host and Guest systems and appropriately size and configure for optimal use
? Create scripting to interface with Active Directory and WMI for the purpose of interrogating and administering Active Directory and Servers
