Systems Architect

Client seeks a Systems Architect for 6+/months contract project for their Houston Tx location.  The complete job details for this opportunity are as follows:

Project Environment:The Viper project encompasses the development and enhancement of a .Net centric development framework and the creation of the necessary service line to support global programs. The team will interact with projects and the Strategy & Architecture team.

Role:

Combines multiple technologies to provide alternative physical solutions. Performs analysis of business models, logical specifications and/or user requirements to design client/server open solutions. Understands various tools and technologies on the market and their appropriate usage. Exhibits ability to design an entire system configuration including hardware, software, and communications. Able to lead a tool evaluation effort, including the definition of the evaluation criteria, identification of tools to be evaluated, and the actual evaluation. Has worked on various platforms, including mainframes, minis and micros . Able to define a total disaster recovery plan and present the customer with various options . Able to work with and manage multiple suppliers. Able to perform as a Team Leader when necessary. A minimum of 5 years of experience in multiple system environments Also includes the following roles: Technical Architect

Assist with development of training & materials

Experience:

Knowledge of UML and design patterns

Experience in design and development of large multi-tiered systems

.Net development experience preferred but j2ee experience will be considered

Knowledge of ORM mapping technologies

Hibernate or NHibernate experience preferred but not required

Experience mentoring development staffs

SOA/Web Services experience required.

Messaging experience required (application design and development), Tibco RV, JMS, MSMQ, MQ-Series are all acceptable

Experience with product life-cycle management is desireable.

Must be able to coordinate the work of a small technical team and manage interaction with customers.
