TECHNICAL OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE/INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION

 

A $1B plus, family-owned Industrial Distributor of Pipes, Valves and Fittings servicing the chemical, oil and gas industries.  The Technical Outside Sales Representative will provide a direct contact for external customers in the selling of Automation and Control products & services. (e.g. valves and actuators, and all follow-up activities needed to ensure good, future customer relations;) the representative?s responsibilities will include the handling of specific, key customers and ensuring a superior client experience.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

?  Analyze region and develop a comprehensive strategy to penetrate new customers and markets while establishing relationships with existing customers.  

?  Demonstrate product specifications to customer at the on-site location.

?  Establish excellent rapport with customers gaining customer confidence and extending relationships with McJunkin, our products, and pricing structure.

?  Conduct sales forecasts, seminars, demonstration of product specifications, and other requests for ISR?s and customers, as needed.

?  Research and develop information on new projects.

?  Work with Regional and Local Management regarding customer account information, delivery times, and customer feedback on products and services.

?  Inform other McJunkin locations of actions, which may incur changes to that branch?s operating procedures.

?  Handle customer concerns, complaints, and corrective actions concerning McJunkin products, services, and personnel.

?  Negotiate with vendors for best product prices.

?  Handle confidential information relating to product and resale cost and expense items.

 

Skills & Experience Desired:



 



?  Base of experience ideally spanning at least 5 to 7 years duration which is likely to include early career experience as an Inside Sales Representative. Prior industry experience in a distribution, PVF or chemical/ oil & gas related field a plus.

 

?  Prior experience will include strong PC skills including proficiency with MS Office, along with a demonstrated ability to gain proficiency with new computer systems.

 

?  Personal qualities of high energy, maturity, flexibility, broad business vision and intelligence coupled with self motivation and resourcefulness.

 

?  Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills coupled with an ability to contribute to the quality process by learning/developing new procedures and functions within the company and  department.

 

?  Ability to relate to the challenges offered by a rapid growth, shirt-sleeve, results driven organization where overtime is often required.
