Technical Specialist - Chemistry Audits

Job Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Physical Science or other technical field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum of four years of nuclear or non-nuclear technical experience in Chemistry. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing to individuals and groups, and to interface effectively with other organizations. Demonstrated ability to evaluate activities, records, and procedures for compliance with program requirements. Demonstrated initiative and willingness to provide sufficient effort to complete assigned work on schedule. Ability to work back shifts, holidays, and weekends including travel to complete work assignments. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team. Able to rapidly shift focus and priorities to support the needs of the organization.

Preferences:
Chemistry experience with demonstrated knowledge of nuclear power plant and/or SONGS work processes.

Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor of Generation Oversight within the Nuclear Oversight & Assessments Division. Working under the direction of Lead Auditors and the Supervisor, the successful candidate will participate as a technical specialist in the performance of audits, surveillances, and field assessments to access performance effectiveness and verify compliance with QA program and regulatory requirements of programs at SONGS. Independently or as a part of audit team, plans, conducts, and documents audits, surveillances, and performance assessments of Health Physics, Chemistry, or other site programs.
