Terminal Manager - Linden, NJ

Job Description:
Plans, supervises, and evaluates the activities of the operations and related terminal activities. Assists in planning, development, and construction phases of capital and maintenance projects. Prepares work schedules for subordinates so that terminal and P&L operations are performed efficiently. Prepares and manages capital and expense budgets. Ensures compliance of all HS&E, federal, state and county regulations. Ensures that all policies and safety procedures are followed. Focuses on improving overall operations efficiency and financial profitability through well maintained facilities. Works with other Valero departments to insure all HS&E regulations are enforced. Keeps records for safety meetings, storm water runoff, hazardous and non hazardous waste. Works with other Valero locations to assure all loads and inventory are accounted. Has knowledge of plant tanks, mixers, motors, mill, heaters, boilers, and insures the plant is safe and productive. Conducts daily safety meetings with each shift and training sessions as needed. Manage all terminal operations including receiving, storing and shipping of all products. Oversees all maintenance work performed at terminal, may perform certain maintenance tasks. Ensures quality control is in place and carried through in the loading and receipt of product. Ensures truck drivers receive required training on proper loading and unloading procedures as well as ensures all marine loading/unloading operations are handled in accordance with local state and federal regulations. Maintains accurate records and prepares required daily and monthly reports to include personnel issues, overtime, throughput volumes, and maintenance or reliability issues.

Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Ten years experience in terminal maintenance and operations required with a minimum of two years supervisory experience preferred. Must have extensive experience in the industry; ground storage tanks, marine operations, truck rack operations and related product terminals experience required. Must be up- to-date on all HS&E training required. Must be able to answer and respond to after hour calls (24 hours per day/7 days per week) required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft products to include Excel. Working knowledge of SAP preferred. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to independently proof work for accuracy. Ability to manage time and scheduling to meet appropriate deadlines. Ability to work successfully in stressful situations, and manage multiple tasks.
