Trainer

Description:

 

Research, design, prepare, and deliver NYISO market operation training and other NYISO employee training programs.  Review and edit programs to maintain currency and responsiveness to NYISO markets and internal requirements.  Continuously monitor NYISO issues, positions, market products and market rules.  Coordinate, design, and deliver compliance training.

 



Experience/Skills:

 

5 years related experience in the electrical utility industry, power systems training; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

 

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to practical problems, and be able to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) at an intermediate level. 

Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables, to learn, apply and describe complex concepts such as NYISO tariffs, governance, market structure, settlements, market information systems and bid processes.  Ability to translate technical information into meaningful courses. 

 


Education:



Associate?s Degree in related technical field is required. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Power, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
