Turnaround Project Lead I or II

LYONDELL-CITGO Refining (LCR) is one of the largest refineries in the U.S. designed to process heavy, high sulfur crude oil. The facility covers nearly 700 acres along the Houston Ship Channel and has a rated capacity of approximately 268,000 barrels per day. We have approximately 875 employees, and earned revenues of $5.6 billion in 2004. We manufacture petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel, heating oil, jet fuel, olefins feedstocks, aromatics, lubricants and petroleum coke.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides leadership, overall coordination and implementation of the Turnaround Management Process (TMP) for assigned turnarounds ranging from $500,000 to $10,000,000.Coordinates activities among all internal and external resources for turnaround continuity and optimization; including safety, planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, forecasting, execution, and closeout. Leads cross functional team (process, maintenance, reliability, HSE, purchasing, etc.) through Front End Loading of scope development and justification, risk assessment, resource allocation, schedules, and budgets.Accomplishes turnaround results by developing turnaround premise, establishing standards and protocols, supervising turnaround staff and sub-contractors, and resolving turnaround conflicts utilizing appropriate facilitative leadership methods.  Reports to senior management with expert analysis of turnaround schedule and budget performance including detailed analysis and optimization, communication of opportunities and concerns, and analysis of contingency plans. Serves as focal point for coordinating integration of capital and expense projects associated with turnarounds. Supports Turnaround Process Manager, filling in as required. Applies knowledge of plant operations.  Keeps abreast of current developments and trends in the management of turnarounds and apply in a timely manner.

 

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent knowledge via 6 years of direct project or turnaround management experience, plus the equivalent of 8 years experience in process plant environment performing cross or multi-functions such as maintenance, operations, technical/process, construction management, mechanical integrity, or project engineering.  A minimum of 3 years of the above experience must be in a leadership role in planning, coordinating, and executing multiple turnarounds in refining, chemical, or petrochemical facilities. Requires strong proficiency with MS Office Suite; familiarity with SAP - PM and MM modules and Primavera (CPM methodology). Position requires strong facilitative leadership, organizational multi-tasking, verbal and written communications skills.
