Wind Data Analyst #1024

WIND DATA ANALYST for Renewable Energy Systems Americas, Inc. (RES-Americas), an expanding Wind Energy company based in Texas.  MUST be willing to travel.  Office location is Austin, Texas. 

 

Purpose:  Provide accurate long term projections of the wind climate at proposed wind farm locations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1)  Wind resource assessment including but not limited to wind data processing, database administration, performing long term wind speed predictions (correlations). 

2)  Duties also include SODAR analysis.  (Sound Detection and Ranging)

3)  Report writing for internal and external clients.

4)  Write ad hoc programs/applications to facilitate job.

5)  Heavy usage of Access and Excel.

6)  Ability to work alone in an outdoor environment on remote locations.

7)  Travel to project sites under development. 

8)  Employees must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess an appropriate valid driver's license, possess personal insurance coverage, and have an acceptable driving record.

9)  Responsible to ensure SAFETY requirements must be met.

10)  Stay current with professional and industrial best practices.

11)  Must be able to work professionally with clients, vendors, employees, managers and supervisors.

12)   Regular attendance is an essential requirement of the job.

13)   Follow any other job-related duties/functions requested by the supervisor.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

1)  Visual Basic, C++ or C# programming is required. 

2)  Detail oriented in all aspects of the position.

3)  Strong Access and Excel skills.

4)  ABILITY TO TRAVEL on short notice.

5)  Must have current passport or be able to obtain a passport within 2 months of hire. 

 

EDUCATION:

A B.S. degree level education in an engineering discipline, or other appropriate technical field such as Math. New graduates encouraged to apply.
