1858 - Field Applications Engineer

Anritsu Instruments Corporation?s Service Assurance Business Unit is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to support sales activities within the Americas region for our MasterClaw? network monitoring system.  We are looking for someone with the right mix of technical expertise and experience along with exceptional communication and presentation skills.

Technical Skills ? The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of:Telecommunications Protocols related to:Radio Access Networks:  A-Interface, Gb, Iub, Iur, Iu-CS, Iu-PS Core Networks:  SS7 (over TDM, ATM, IP), VoIP (SIP, MEGACO, RTCP, RTP), GPRS/UMTS (Gn, Gi, Gc, ect.)General IP Networks:  Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Session Border ControllersGeneral ATM NetworksTelecommunications Architecture related to:SS7 Networks (STP, SCP)VoIP Networks:  Vo/Cable, Vo/Broadband, LD Bypass, DMSC, GMSC, IMSRadio Access Networks:  GSM/GPRS, UMTS, WiMAxTransmission Equipment:  DACS, MUX, DSXComputing PlatformsIntel architecture servers and PC?sLinux, MS-WindowsJava, Oracle

 

Communications Skills  ? The successful candidate will be able to compose and present written documentation and graphics for the support of:Sales PresentationsCustomer trials ? Working side by side with customers to explain functionality and the value of the data to network operationsCustomer requirements documentationSpanish language skills highly desirable

 

Management Skills ? The successful candidate will be able to project manage customer trial activity including hardware installation, system configuration, and system testing activities.

 

Educational and Experience Requirements ? Bachelor of Science in a technical field (engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics) and five years experience working in telecommunications.  Ten years relevant experience may be substituted.  Experience working for a telecommunications network operator highly desirable.

 

Behavioral competencies ? Successful candidate will be able to operate in an international and multicultural environment.

 

Travel Requirements ? Approximately 50%
