Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc. is searching for a several Mechanical Engineers to join our Motor Home Product Development Department in the Riverside Corporate location.

The Mechanical Design Engineer position is responsible for developing and bringing to production the non-electrical portions of Fleetwood?s Motor Homes products. The person in this position also integrates components developed by other disciplines into the finished product.

Primary Responsibilities:
. Work with sales, marketing, and production to produce an innovative and cost effective product that meets market and dealer demands.
. Ensure design concepts and final designs are feasible and mechanically sound.
. Ensure prints for a project integrate as one cohesive design. E.G. openings in walls match openings in floors, and plumbing connections in the chassis match locations in the interior.
. Lead and direct associates in developing and revising drawings and bills of material that enhance the accuracy of the final print package.
. Reduce warranty through mechanical design, test and validation procedures.
. Develop timelines and be accountable for maintaining schedule.
. Assist in the developmental stages of prototype and/or new concept construction to ensure accuracy of the drawing and bill of material structure.
. Ensure completeness and accuracy of all drawings and bills of material.
. Supervise drafters to include providing direction, development and support in order to facilitate their long-term success and growth.
. Operate all of the system hardware and software equipment to develop an accurate set of drawings and bills of material.
. Keep abreast of program and drafting standards to incorporate updated and new requirements into production development.
. Evaluate the direct report?s performance within approved guidelines to ensure that developmental needs are addressed and to ensure positive reinforcement is delivered.
. Define systems and standard practices for ensuring code and regulatory compliance.
. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:
Mechanical Engineering Degree, Auto CAD, schematic, and wire harness drawing standards
? Two to five years of project management and product design work
? 3D Computer graphic, design skills
? Project Management skills
? Ability to converse at multiple levels
? Exceptional strategic thinker with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
? Strong problem solving and leadership capabilities
? Good creative and negotiation skills
? Ability to perform forecasting and trending analyses
? Ability to work collaboratively across functions
? Willing to relocate and travel approximately 10-15%- Motor Home manufacturing facilities and supplier locations within the U.S.
